Tell Us What You Want.Chatter Yak!
Have you ever babysat or visited a friend or family member that had an infant that wouldn’t stop crying? If so, we bet you or someone in the room was thinking, “Just tell me what you want! I don’t understand baby cries.” On the surface, this might sound like a pretty strange way to start a blog, but we’re going somewhere with this one (hang in there with us.)
Well, like a baby crying and you or the parent not knowing what the baby wants, most businesses and organizations have very little clue what their customers (members) actually want. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Have you compared different banks and credit unions? Probably not. But if you did, you’d see there really isn’t much of a difference between the products and services that they offer.
You might see a low-rate credit card or hear about free checking, but honestly, all of us have those things and we just call them different names to try to be “cool”, but all we really do is confuse people (maybe you?).
Well, we don’t want to do that and we apologize, because up until lately, we’ve just been doing what everyone else has been doing. Being a “follower” is usually never cool and we apologize about before. Now, let’s talk about the present.
We’ve created the Next Gen group, because we want to hear from you. Yea, that’s right. We’re a pretty large organization, but we realize that if we don’t create products and services that you REALLY want instead of trying to tell you what you want, well, we probably won’t be around for long.
So here’s your chance. Check out a Next Gen meeting. You can see our scheduled future events and check out some pictures and cool stuff from past events here. If you stop into one of our meet-ups, feel free to share your thoughts and ideas. If you want to take it a step further, why not apply to be on your credit union’s Advisory Board. As an Advisory Board member, you will get to meet with the CEO, other executives and even speak directly to your Board of Directors!
Next Gen was created for you and this is and always will be about you. Why? Here’s why: You are the future. You will be the next leaders of our schools, businesses communities and government. You will also be the leaders of YOUR credit union.
It’s our job to help you prepare.
